Ministries and Organizations

Adult Choir
Join together in song, under the talented direction of our choir director. Rehearsals on Tuesday evenings, 7:00 PM in the Church (use St. Joseph side door). Please contact our Director of Music, Mrs. Kathleen Lerro at 610-237-1633,  for more details. New members are always welcome! You don't have to have a perfect voice to sing in a choir. Rosary Group

Unite as a community praying the Rosary for your intentions and the intentions of the Parish on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM in St. George Churchl. The recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the recitation of the Rosary will take place.  All are welcome. 

Eucharistic Adoration

Fridays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Offertory Counters

A team that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each team volunteers about once a month and meets in the Rectory Meeting Room following the 10:00 AM Mass on Sundays. 

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of St. George Parish. Members meet approximately six times throughout the year. 

Senior Altar Server

Men and women who assist at Mass or Funeral masses to enhance the worship of our faith community.

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross are held on Friday evenings at 4:30 PM in the church during Lent.


Ushers are volunteers who assist people to their seat if necessary. They direct the flow of people during the distribution of the Eucharist. They also take up the collection and assit with distributing Parish Bulletins.

Miraculous Medal Devotions

The Miraculous Medal Novena follows the 4:00 PM Mass on Monday afternoons. 

Prayer Power

Prayer Power is a group of parishioners who provide pray in a prayer chain for a special intention or an urgent need. 

Liturgical and Other Music Ministries

Altar Servers, Guitar Ministry, Leaders of Song, Musicians, Organists, Presenters of Gifts, Readers.

Parish Religious Education Program

Our PREP provides religious education for children in grades 1 to 8, Children's Liturgy of the Word, Bible Study, and RCIA. 





Holy Name Society

Although our Pinochle games have been suspended, all men of the parish are welcome to join us for Mass on the First Friday of each month at 4:00 PM in the chruch. For details about the Holy Name Society, please contact St. Joseph Parish in Collingdale at 610-583-4530 or visit

Legion of Mary

Join members of the Legion of Mary on Monday nights at 7:00 PM in the Church to reflect and recite the Rosary and offer prayers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary on behalf of all of our sick, homebound, and nursing home parishioners. 

Altar Server

Boys and girls from grade 3 and above who assist the priest at the liturgy.

Baptism Preparation (Pre-Jordan)

Preparing parents for the formation of their child's faith.

Extraordinary Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

Martha Maids and Gentlemen

Volunteers who help us to clean and tidy up our beautiful church.


Parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass. 


Rite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments.


Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Casserole Program

Provides frozen casseroles to the homeless via St. John's Hospice on a monthly basis.

Bereavement Ministry

Sending sympathy and condolences to members of the parish who recently lost a loved one.

Community Outreach

Our Community Outreach Program consists of the Parish Food Cupboard, which helps provide temporary food assistance to families in need, and the Adopt a Family Thanksgiving and Christmas Programs. 



As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter, 4: 10-11
